Rima Hindo holds an MBA from the Kellogg Schulich Executive Program, a Graduate Diploma in Public Accounting from McGill University, a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Concordia University, and studied computer science at Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah, USA. She has held her professional chartered accountant license since 1985.
Rima has worked around the globe in Montreal, Toronto, the United Kingdom, and the Middle East. She has held a variety of roles at one of Canada's leading financial institutions, including budgeting and reporting for global markets, overseeing accounting for the first two asset-backed securitization activities in Canada, establishing quality assurance processes for the internal audit department, and serving as a subject matter expert on privacy. She previously set up the training department for a Big 4 firm in Saudi Arabia.
Rima is currently a faculty member at McGill University School of Continuing Studies, where she serves as a lecturer and the Accounting, Finance, and Taxation coordinator. She has also taught Managerial Accounting at two universities in the Middle East and trained internal audit interns at the largest tertiary care hospital in the region.
In addition to her academic roles, Rima is associated with many philanthropic societies and cultural activities worldwide. She ran a mentoring group for businesswomen in Saudi Arabia, served as a board member for the IMA's Riyadh chapter, and is a founding member of Metamode Institute, a think tank in Toronto. She has organized opera and jazz concerts, as well as art exhibits.
Rima has contributed cases to Accounting by Hongren, 8th Global Edition, published by Pearson, PLC, and was also a columnist for an international travel magazine.
